While Hadrian’s Wall Path is open year round, April-October are peak walking months. Early spring (May/June) is ideal, as the weather is often manageable for walking. Many attractions and some accommodation may be closed or have limited availability during winter.

There’s no right answer! Every walker is different—so is every trip. While most people complete the trail in 6-8 days, we design our itineraries to suit a range of abilities, experiences, and goals. We also offer a custom itinerary option that lets you customise your trip even further.

As an independent company ourselves we are committed to supporting other small, locally owned businesses in the places you’re walking through. We choose each stay for its charm and character, making your experience even more memorable. These are the places we return to each year and would recommend to our family and friends.
Our end-to-end and experience-based itineraries use a mix of local B&Bs and inns, while our exclusive Bunkhouse Journey and Hadrian’s Hideaways itineraries provide unique stays in characterful bunkhouses or luxury accommodation respectively.
-
We partner with a local baggage transfer service to move your bags to and from each accommodation. Please have your bag ready to go for 9am each day with baggage tag attached. Our baggage transfer partner will then hand deliver your bag to your next stay, typically by 4pm the same day.
-
Yes! Most, if not all, of our accommodation partners offer a packed lunch or evening meal at an extra cost. Even if one of your stays does not explicitly offer a packed lunch or evening meal at the accommodation, we may be able to work with the owner to provide this for you.
-
Your Trail Notes pack includes our recommendations for places to eat along the Path, as well as information on how to book packed lunches and evening meals. We highly recommend booking in advance, as restaurants and pubs can fill up quickly, especially during busy season (April to October).
Many accommodation providers also ask that you book packed lunches in advance.
If you would like assistance with this please just let us know!
-
The area is very welcoming to walkers with dogs but please be sure to follow this guidance for protecting wildlife and farm animals.
If you wish to bring your four-legged friend on your holiday, please let us know on your booking form, as this will impact the accommodation options we are able to offer. There may be an additional cost for booking with a pet but this can be discussed at the time of booking.
-
